Vintage Toys from 'Western Germany', which means from the US zone in postwar Germany, have become the focus of many a collector.
In Austria this period is of the same interest, since economic and manufacturing capabilities were the same. Both countries were recovering from World War 2 and the toys from that era remind us of an optimistic future, that might be lacking in today's youth.
Model cars and model trains deserve special focus. They personified our dreams of owning the 'real' thing. Teddy Bears were there to protect us at night :)
